Are all of you Wii players ready for Spore Hero? The title is scheduled for a December 31, 2009 release.

In Spore Hero, players focus on creativity and evolution using the unique controls for Wii. The game takes players on an exciting adventure through a beautiful, colorful world based in the Spore universe.

Spore Hero and Spore Hero Arena are Nintendo platform exclusives and have been built from the ground up. Here’s a tasty news byte from GameSpy:

Spore Hero for the Wii takes on the form of a story-driven action adventure where players can create their own hero who must embark on a quest to save its own planet from destruction.

Taking full advantage of the Wii controls, Spore Hero engages players in heated battles, humorous missions, curious puzzles and more. Throughout the game, players will collect more than 250 parts with unique abilities and experience the unparalleled customisation of the revolutionary Spore Creature Creator enhanced for the Wii.

Spore Hero Arena takes on more of the tried-and-tested Pokemon approach which allows players to take their creations into arenas to do battle against each other. WiFi multiplayer support will allow four-player battles to take place.

Players create a unique gladiator Hero creature and guide it from planet to planet as they fight dangerous enemy creatures and complete special missions, collecting new parts and abilities, gaining upgrades along the way. In the quest for combat, they’ll seek out to defeat each local champion and unlock special abilities that will benefit their Hero.

Sporedum points out that Spore has reached 100 million creations, a pretty incredible milestone. 2,700,000 contributed to that high content count. Congrats EA Maxis!
